

Investigative Journalism Training
The institute for the Advancement of Journalism in partnership with Tabelo Tsolo the CEO of Kamuhle Media held a successful five-day investigative journalism training course that took place at SABC Radio Park Building, Auckland Park.
From 27 November 2023 to 01 December 2023, the IAJ conducted an Investigative Journalism course at SABC Auckland offices.
The course was facilitated by an experienced investigative journalist. There were 11 delegates from various SABC offices around the country, such as Northern Cape, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape, and Gauteng. Nine of the participants worked in radio while three worked for TV and radio. The participants work experience ranged from executive producers, producers, bulletin writers, journalists, and a presenter.
The course content was prepared and delivered by the IAJ facilitator and Kamuhle Media CEO and director, Tabelo Tsolo.
The course was designed to refresh delegates on the basics of journalism so that they could write tight, entertaining/ informative stories that speak to their audience. The program was also to introduce the delegates to mobile journalism which is a new skill to encourage them to create multimedia content and repurpose their stories for different platforms.
